• Lane departure warning system – This system will alert a driver when he or she is swerving or may leave his or her lane. This can be particularly useful for people who are driving long distances.
• Automated emergency braking – AEB will engage and apply the brakes automatically when a driver is not attempting to avoid a hazard, traffic ahead or other things that may be the in the path of the vehicle.
• Forward collision system – This system will engage when a driver fails to see a hazard ahead and may collide with it. It can measure the distance between vehicles and slow a vehicle if necessary.

These are just a few examples of how technology may be key in saving lives. However, a driver is still responsible for the choices he or she makes behind the wheel, no matter what features his or her car may have.
